How to Find Straid Fishery

Only after recent road development work in the local area has it become more straightforward to find this gem of a fishery. There are many different ways to get here by car but this is the most popular - wind, hail, snow or sun.

From Belfast travel north on the M2, or from Antrim travel south on M2. Either way, take the Glengormley exit (exit 4) down onto the Sandyknowes roundabout. Drive around the roundabout taking the fourth exit onto the A8 to Larne.

Remain on the A8 as far as the Ballynure roundabout, where the Templepatrick Road (A57) joins from your left and the B58 for Carrickfergus exits to your right – take the B58 towards Carrickfergus.

1 mile further on you will meet a small crossroads with the Castletown Road and at the
same time see Woodside Haulage Firm in front of you. Turn right onto the Castletown Road. The entrance to Straid Fishery is 500 yards down the hill on your left.
